Up for sale, a 1988 Epiphone Casino in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with a rare dark Violin Sunburst finish, complete with the original hardshell case. Produced in Japan at the Terada factory, this is an early Epiphone reissue which preceded the "Elitist" line.
Acoustically, the fully hollow maple body has a smooth, bright tone, offering an ideal platform for the stock pair of P-90 pickups. The pickups are wound to vintage spec with plenty of midrange bark, and a glassy, percussive quality. Offering a refinement far beyond most other modern Casino reissues, these pickups are sensitive to picking dynamics with an overarching sweetness and sparkling cut, equally suited to articulate cleans and rich overdrive. Featherweight at 6lbs 8oz, this Casino has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The gloss Violin Sunburst finish exhibits a bit of checking along the body perimeter, and some subtle texturing in the clear coat central to the lower bout. Cosmetic wear is otherwise limited to faint buckle rash on the back, a couple of tiny dings and a handful of faint scratches on the body as a whole. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is immaculate.
The original black tolex hardshell case with gold Epiphone silkscreen logo is included.
