Up for sale, a 1988 Charvel by Jackson Model 7 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This rare Tele-inspired Charvel was produced at the Chu Shin factory in Japan as part of the licensing agreement between IMC and Charvel/Jackson, featuring a reverse headstock, two single coil pickups, and a gloss Electric Blue finish.
Lightweight at 6lbs 15oz, Tonewoods include a quartersawn maple neck, 22-fret maple fingerboard with compound radius, and basswood body. The Jackson J-100 and J-120 single coil pickups (neck and bridge, respectively) yield single coil snap and sparkle; the J-120 is big and potent, still plenty twangy and immediate, while the J-100 is smooth and sweet with plenty of midrange breadth. This Model 7 benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple (quartersawn)
-Shape: Slender D, measuring .745” 1st fret, .865” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Maple, 22-fret, 12-16” compound radius
-Frets: Jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2"
-Nut: 1 11/16”
-Tuners: Gotoh
-Serialization: Six-digit (neck plate)
Body Specs:
-Wood: Basswood
-Pickup: Jackson J-100 (N), J-120 (B) single coils
-Harness: Full-size Japanese pots September, 1988
-Hardware: Gotoh T-type six-saddle bridge (block saddles), dome-top knurled knobs (one replacement)
The gloss Electric Blue finish is framed on top by grained binding, and there is a large discolored area central to the back. Cosmetic wear is otherwise limited to a few faint scratches on top and some minor dings on the back and along the lower bout perimeter. The satin finish on the neck profile is smooth and clean with only a few shallow marks.
An iGig padded gigbag is included.
