Up for sale, a 1988 Charvel by Jackson Model 3A Special Edition in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced at the Chu Shin factory in Japan, this built-to-shred Charvel features a quartersawn rock maple neck, thick slab 22-fret compound radius rosewood fingerboard, and a yellow poplar body. This particular Special Edition model was produced in limited quantities exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, featuring a gloss Red finish with matching headstock.

At the heart of this Charvel are a pair of Jackson J-80C ceramic humbuckers: these ultra high-output, distortion class humbuckers have an accentuated low-end response. The bridge is snarling and aggressive, and the neck has a woody chop and girth while retaining great treble sweetness. Both pickups take gain notably well for crunchy chords and white-hot leads, and the five-way pickup selector switch enables single coil sparkle, with the pickups coil split at positions 2 and 4. This Model 3A weighs 8lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
