Up for sale, a 1987 Fender Telecaster ‘52 vintage reissue model TL52-95 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a G&G tweed hardshell case. This rare, premium “Made in Japan” Telecaster was produced at the Fujigen factory during the golden age of Fender Japan production, featuring a Butterscotch nitro lacquer finish, a V-shaped maple neck, and the same black bobbin pickups used on Fender’s early American Vintage series instruments.
Vintage-correct touches include a serialized bridge base with the latest JV-prefix (Japanese Vintage series) serial number we’ve ever encountered on a Fender Japan Tele, brass bridge saddles, dome-topped knurled knobs, and flathead screws throughout.
Weighing 7lbs 5oz, the ash body and one-piece maple neck yield a lively, detailed natural acoustic quality with great note attack and midrange cut. The American Vintage ‘52 pickups have all the finer points of vintage production with black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads, a brass baseplate on the bridge pickup, and flush-mount alnico pole pieces. The pickups deliver the great articulation, chewy twang, and woody cut associated with the first Blackguard Teles. This Telecaster TL52-95 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Butterscotch Blonde nitro lacquer finish exhibits limited wear through to a base primer coat adjacent to the rear strap button, some small finish chips along the body perimeter, limited buckle scuffing central to the back, and a few additional minor dings on the body as a whole. The deeply ambered nitro gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean, with one small sticker "tan line" on the tip of the headstock.
A G&G tweed hardshell case is included. The case features clean leather ends, a brown leather handle and two (out of three) functional latches.
