Up for sale, a 1987 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72-55 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced during the golden age of “Made in Japan” production at the Fujigen factory, this Strat was marketed exclusively to the Japanese domestic market and is uncommon outside its country of origin.
Weighing 7lbs 6oz, the two-piece ash body has highly unusual and dynamic grain, paired with a one-piece maple neck. The staggered alnico magnet pickups offer plenty of sparkling spank in the bridge position and bell-like cut at the neck, with a thinned-out quack in the “in-between” positions on the five-way switch. This Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
