Up for sale, a 1987 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72-55 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced during the golden age of “Made in Japan” production at the Fujigen factory, this Strat was marketed exclusively to the Japanese domestic market and is uncommon outside its country of origin.
Tonewoods include an ash body and a one-piece maple neck, and this Strat weighs 8lbs 12oz, delivering plenty of note attack, sustain and a detailed midrange character. The trio of ST-Current alnico magnet single coils deliver classic Strat tonalities at each position on the five-way pickup selector switch: the neck pickup has a bell-like chime and warmth, with thinned-out squawk in positions 2 and 4, and a sparkling spank in the bridge position. This ST72-55 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
