Up for sale, a 1987 Fender Jazz Bass “Order Made” model JB62 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This rare “Made in Japan” Jazz Bass was crafted at the venerable Fujigen factory during the golden age of Fender Japan production as part of Fender Japan’s Order Made program, which offered non-catalog models with unique feature sets. Channeling the aesthetics and tonal qualities of the Moon JJ-4 model (another highly regarded boutique Japanese brand), this particular Jazz Bass features an ash body finished in gloss Trans Red with a matching headstock, accented by gold hardware.

Weighing 12lbs 3oz, this bass has tons of natural sustain and power, with the midrange punch and note attack inherent in ash as a tonewood. The pickups deliver a range of classic Jazz Bass tonalities; the bridge pickup offers a present treble-centric growl and burp, while smoother, broader sounds can be achieved with the neck pickup favored, particularly with the Tone knob rolled back to taste. This Jazz Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and spot-on intonation.

The gloss Trans Red finish highlights the grain in the ash body, accented by the gold hardware. Cosmetic wear is limited to just a handful of faint marks on the body as a whole, largely relegated to the back and lower bout perimeter. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
