Up for sale, a 1987 Fender Mustang ‘69 vintage reissue model MG69-60 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. An extremely early example of this model produced during the golden age of Fender Japan at the Fujigen factory, this Mustang is rarely seen outside its country of origin.
The tonewood complement comprises a basswood body, maple neck, and rosewood fretboard, and this MG69-60 weighs 7lbs 8oz. The crisp, clear voice of the instrument when strummed acoustically translates well through the par of alnico magnet single coil pickups. When both on/off/on pickup selector switches are at their innermost or outermost points, the quack and spank of this out-of-phase setting is unique to the Mustang. There's plenty of tonal range between the two pickups, with meatier sounds when the neck pickup is soloed and more aggressive twang at the bridge. This Mustang has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
