Up for sale, a 1987 Charvel by Jackson Model 1A electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag. Made at the Chu Shin factory in Japan as part of a licensing agreement between IMC and Charvel/Jackson, the Model 1A is a textbook Super Strat with a trio of Jackson single coils and a Floyd Rose Licensed TRS-101 tremolo. The tonewood pairing of a basswood body and maple neck delivers a balanced, articulate natural response, complimented by the stock trio of Jackson J100s pickups. Delivering classic Strat tones via the five-way blade pickup selector switch, the guitar offers various shades of snappy single coil spank. Weighing 8lbs 11oz, this Charvel has been professionally setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, spot-on intonation, and fast action.

The quatersawn rock maple neck has a very slender and fast-feeling D-shaped profile with lots of shoulder, measuring .765” deep at the 1st fret and .875” at the 12th. The thick slab maple fretboard has a compound 12-16" radius, featuring dot inlay and the original jumbo fretwire. The frets have good height and meat, with uniform wear on the crowns of frets 1-2, and lighter fretwear extending exclusively beneath the plain strings and growing more faint as you travel up the fretboard. The guitar plays cleanly in every register with a straight neck and ideally adjusted, responsive truss rod. The scale length measures 25 1/2“, and the locking nut measures 1 11/16” in width, holding pitch exceptionally well against the most dynamic of dives with the Floyd Rose Licensed tremolo system. On the black headstock, the original black Jackson-branded Gotoh-made tuners are present and turn smoothly.

On the body, the electronics function as intended, with the trio of Jackson J100 single coil pickups wired to a five-way blade selector switch, Master Volume, and pair of Tone controls, with original full-size pots which date to '87. Cosmetic wear includes pick scuffing across the black three-ply pickguard, and some finish scratches and minor marks on the body as a whole consistent with light, honest use. The neck profile sports a pristine smooth satin finish.

The original form-fit Charvel-branded gigbag is included.
