Up for sale, a 1987 Charvel Model 5A in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Made at the Chu Shin factory in Japan as part of the licensing agreement between IMC and Charvel/Jackson, the Model 5A is a rare top-of-the-line Superstrat offering from Charvel, featuring neck through construction with a bridge position Jackson J95C humbucker, single Volume knob, and Jackson-branded, Floyd Rose-licensed JT6 double locking tremolo.

The maple through neck is paired with poplar body wings and a slab rosewood fretboard, delivering a balanced, clear natural acoustic tone and an ideal platform for the high gain crunch of the J95C ceramic magnet humbucker. The J95C is an aggressively wound pickup, designed for optimal clarity when distorted with a white-hot bite perfect for screaming leads and thick-yet-articulate chords. This Model 5A weighs 7lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action and spot-on intonation.

Cosmetic wear on the gloss Black finish includes a handful of dings on the bass-side of the top, some scuffing along the treble side of the strum path, and some faint scratches on the back that fall shy of full-on “buckle rash” status. The smooth gloss on the neck profile is immaculate.

A molded hardshell case is included.
