Up for sale, a 1986 Squier by Fender Stratocaster model SST-30 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Built at the FujiGen factory in Japan, this guitar was one of Fender's earliest attempts at a quality, affordable Strat under the Squier brand name. Following in the footsteps of the venerable "JV" line that kicked off Fender Japan's vintage reissue run, this guitar easily exceeds the quality of later Squier iterations.
Featuring a basswood body, maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fretboard, the acoustic response of this guitar is smooth and clear, channeled through the stock SQ-3 ceramic magnet single coil pickups. These coils are notably hot, metering at 14k ohms with more punch and cut than traditional alnico magnet pickups. There's an overarching midrange fullness to the signal, with a bridge pickup that has plenty of bite and oomph, and a neck position coil retaining excellent warmth and depth. Weighing 7lbs 8oz, this Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.
