Up for sale, a 1986 Marshall Original Classic Limited Edition JCM800 2204 Master Model 50w Mk 2 Lead in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Part of a short-lived limited series that emerged for only a brief period in the mid-eighties, this exceedingly rare iteration of the JCM800 boasts custom color green tolex and large check grillcloth on a small box enclosure, delivering the thick crunch, sizzle, and power for which the 800 series is known. Biased to perfection with a pair of Electro-Harmonix EL34s, this Marshall is ready for stage and studio use.
The circuit is virtually untouched, retaining the stock Drake power and output transformers (dating to ‘85), along with the choke (dating to ‘86). The inspection tag on the chassis has a handwritten date of 14/1/86, and the preamp valves include a trio of Groove Tubes 12AX7s, along with the Electro-Harmonix EL34 power tube pair.
There are just a few minor marks on the smooth green tolex, and the large check grillcloth and piping are pristine. All of the original knobs on the faceplate are present, with minimal wear on the silkscreen text. The original molded plastic feet, corners, and handle caps are intact, as well as the large "Marshall" logo.
