Up for sale, a 1986 Kazuo Yairi H5 classical acoustic in showroom clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Crafted in Japan to exacting standards, this Yairi boasts a solid spruce top, laminate rosewood back and sides, and a one-piece mahogany neck capped with an ebony fretboard. The guitar has healthy projection, with an articulate sound across all strings and a rich underlying lower midrange warmth. Featherweight at 3lbs 4oz, this sonically sweet Yairi has been professionally setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with D'addario normal tension strings.The mahogany neck has a medium D-shaped profile carve with rounded shoulders and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .845” deep at the 1st fret and .935” at the 9th. The thick slab ebony fretboard features pristine stock slender fretwire, and the guitar plays well up the neck with medium action, measuring 9/64" on the treble side and 11/64" on the bass side at the 12th fret. The scale length is 25 5/8“, and the original hand-carved bone nut measures a full 2” in width. String spacing at the bridge is 2 5/16“. The slotted headstock features a rosewood veneer with original tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch well.On the body, the rosewood bridge sits flush with the top and the saddle is nearing its lowest point of adjustment. The solid spruce top features multi-ply rosewood and maple purfling, and the soundhole rosette is ornately inlaid. Visible through the soundhole, the original label is present, with build date, luthier signature, and model information. The instrument is stunningly well-kept with a smooth gloss finish and barely a scratch on it.The original hardshell case is included.
