Up for sale, a 1986 Fender Telecaster ‘72 vintage reissue model TL72-55 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Featuring a deeply ambered gloss Butterscotch finish, this early Fender Japan model was produced at the Fujigen factory and offered only in the Japanese domestic market.
Lightweight at 7lbs 1oz, the ash body ensures a certain midrange detail and cut and this Telecaster is very resonant acoustically. The TL-Current single coil pickups deliver a cutting warmth in the neck position and sparkling twang at the bridge. This Telecaster benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Butterscotch Blonde finish has aged to a rich amber hue and exhibits tight checking across the top, particularly along the bass side. There are a couple splits at the corners of the neck pocket that are only finish-deep, with just a few minor dings and finish scratches on the top and back. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean, with a few shallow marks behind the 11th fret that are not distracting to the palm.
A vintage gigbag is included.
