Up for sale, a 1986 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72-55 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced during the golden age of “Made in Japan” production at the Fujigen factory, this Stratocaster was marketed exclusively to the Japanese domestic market and is uncommon outside its country of origin.
Tonewoods include an ash body and a one-piece maple neck, and this Strat weighs 7lbs 15oz, offering midrange detail, glassy treble snap and excellent sustain. The trio of ST-Current alnico magnet single coils are coupled to a five-way pickup selector switch. The bridge pickup has an upper midrange cut and sparkle, and the neck pickup has a bell-like chime and warmth, with hollow quack in positions 2 and 4. This ST72-55 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Natural finish highlights the grain in the ash body, with uniform darkening of the clear coat presenting closer to "Butterscotch." Cosmetic wear is limited to light buckle rash central to the back (largely constrained to the trem cavity cover), light scuffing on top along the pick path and around the bridge, and just a couple tiny dings on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth ambered gloss, with a few shallow marks along the profile in the lower registers that are not distracting to the palm while fretting.
The original gigbag is included.
