Up for sale, a 1986 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72-115 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, upgraded with USA-spec CTS pots and a set of Fender's Pure Vintage '65 Strat pickups. One of the shortest lived top-tier models hailing from the golden age of “Made in Japan” production at the Fujigen factory, the ST72-115 was only available from 1986-87. Features include '70s spec Fender "F" tuners, block saddles, and a gloss Natural finish.

The ash body yields a certain midrange detail and note attack, paired with the glassy snap of the maple fretboard. At 9lbs 6oz, there's plenty of natural sustain on tap too, and these qualities translate faithfully through the Pure Vintage '65 pickups have gray fiber bobbins, staggered alnico magnets and cloth-covered leads. The bridge has a focused gutsy twang, with smoother bell-like percussive cut at the neck and hollow squawk at the “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector switch. This ST72-115 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Natural finish highlights the grain of the ash body, with subtle bearclaw figuring on top at the lower bout. Cosmetic wear is limited to very light buckle worming central to the back, faint pick scuffing on top (primarily limited to the pickguard) and just a couple small dings on the body as a whole. The neck retains its smooth gloss, with just a few shallow marks on the profile carve.

A padded gigbag is included.
