Up for sale, a 1986 ESP 400 Series T-style Custom vintage guitar in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. The 400 Series guitars were crafted in Japan during the ‘80s, featuring top-notch fit and finish work, faithfully capturing the cosmetics and tonal attributes of their American counterparts. This example was originally sold through Matt Umanov guitars in New York City.

Tonewoods include a double bound alder body and maple neck, and the slab rosewood fretboard has a couple modern player-friendly features including a 22 fret fingerboard and 9 1/2" radius. The original LH950 single coil pickups deliver plenty of quintessential Tele-style shimmer and twang, with chewy, sparkling bite at the bridge and fuller bell-like tones at the neck that remain articulate. This Series 400 Tele Custom weighs 7lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Sunburst finish is framed by cream binding, and there’s some localized finish checking on top at the bass-side upper bout. Cosmetic wear is limited to faint buckle rash on the bass side of the back and just a few light finish scratches and small dings on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is immaculate.

A Washburn-branded hardshell case is included.
