Produced in Japan from 1986-89, this short-lived Charvel bass features neck-through construction, a PJ pickup complement with active EQ, and a gloss Pearl White finish.
Tonewoods comprises a quartersawn maple neck (neck-through), poplar body wings, and a slab rosewood fretboard, and this Model 3B weighs 9lbs 6oz. The PJ pairing includes a J-20 P-style pickup and J-150 J-style single coil, offering a rich midrange character, aggressive cut, and a present treble register that accentuates the grind of the 45-100 roundwound strings. The active PE-2000 EQ controls provide expanded tonal flexibility with dedicated Treble and Bass knobs to boost or cut said frequencies. This Model 3B has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with comfortable action and accurate intonation.
