Up for sale, a 1986 Charvel by Jackson Model 5 in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Stunningly well-kept with a gloss Pearl White finish, this upper tiered Charvel Model 5 is a first-year example, produced at the Chu Shin factory in Japan and rarely seen outside its country of origin. Boasting maple neck through body construction, poplar body wings, and a thick slab compound radius 24 fret rosewood fingerboard, this Charvel is built for shred, outfitted with Jackson J80C "Distortion Class" humbuckers and a Kahler 2300 tremolo.The pair of Jackson J80C ceramic magnet humbuckers are big and bold with a bright, aggressive bite at the bridge, and a full, tight quality at the neck, maintaining optimal note clarity. The humbuckers are especially well-suited for high gain, perfect for monster solos and chunky chords alike. This guitar weighs 8lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action and spot-on intonation.The rock maple neck has a slender D-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder in all registers, measuring .800” deep at the 1st fret and .900” at the 12th. The 24 fret rosewood fretboard has a 12-16" compound radius and flawless jumbo fretwire. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The locking nut measures 1 11/16” (43mm) in width. On the headstock the black “Jackson”-embossed tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The C6-prefix on the back of the headstock dates to 1986.All of the electronics work as intended, with the pickups wired to the stock harness with Master Volume and Tone controls and a Mid Boost knob. The Kahler 2300 tremolo has brass roller saddles and is complete with the original arm, actuating easily for expressive dives. A trio of black knurled knobs round out the notably clean hardware. This is an exceedingly well-kept guitar, with barely a scratch on the gloss Pearl White finish. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is equally pristine.A padded gigbag is included.
