Up for sale, a 1986 B.C. Rich Warlock from the NJ series in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A rare Japanese domestic market bolt-on neck iteration of the Warlock platform with streamlined controls, this B.C. Rich features a Black gloss finish, six-on-a-side headstock, Floyd Rose-licensed vibrato tailpiece, and a pair of humbuckers engineered for high gain. The pickups are modeled after the Dimarzio Super Distortion with a high output ceramic magnet design engineered to provide a range of roaring tonalities with ample output and midrange push, metering at 11k ohms each. This Warlock weighs 8lbs, professionally dialed in here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a slender, fast-feeling C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .800” deep at the 1st fret and .905” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features dot inlay and stock jumbo fretwire. The frets have their full factory height and plenty of meat, showing just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The guitar plays well in all registers up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The scale length is 24 3/4“, and the bone nut measures 42mm in width (1.650"), just forward of the locking nut for the Floyd Rose. The six-on-a-side headstock features chrome B.C. Rich-branded tuners, and the foil stickered serial number and Pat. Pending stickers are present on the back.On the body, the electronics function as intended, with a three-way pickup selector toggle, Master Volume, and individual Tone controls for each pickup, capped with black knurled knobs. The chrome-plated hardware is gleaming, and the locking Floyd Rose-Licensed tremolo engages easily for deep dive bombs and sharp trills, complete with the original arm. The gloss Black finish exhibits some finish chipping and nicks on the various body points, with one spot of touchup on the body point north of the vibrato. The top is notably clean save for a bit of light pick scuffing on the treble side of the strum path, and the back shows scattered finish scratches and a small spot of light buckle rash between the neck plate and tremolo cavity cover. There are a couple finish chips on the bass-side headstock edge, while the gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless. The original form-fit B.C. Rich-branded gigbag is included.
