Up for sale, a 1985 Greco F-100P headless bass in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. First introduced in the mid-1980s as part of Greco’s ‘Formula’ series, the F-100P was made in the Fujigen factory and enjoyed only a brief production run, with the Formula series representing Greco’s only collaboration with Steinberger.
Weighing 7lbs 5oz, this F-100P features a maple neck with through-body construction and sen ash wings, delivering a sustained, balanced tonal base for the Greco PJ pickup complement. The pickups offer both the ample thump and heft of a split coil Precision neck pickup and the midrange cut and articulation of a Jazz pickup at the bridge. This F-100P benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple (neck-through)
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .835” at 1st fret,and .995” at 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, 12” radius
-Frets: Medium jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 34”
-Nut: 1 1/2”, zero fret (double-ball end system)
Body Specs:
-Wood: Maple, sen ash
-Pickups: Greco PJ single coils
-Harness: Untouched solder, 500K pots (visible date codes from August, 1985)
-Controls: Pickup blend (center detent), Volume, Tone
-Hardware: Steinberger patented bridge with integrated tuners, flat-top knurled knobs
The gloss Black finish presents very cleanly, with a bit of light buckle scuffing on the back, a small finish indentation at the treble-side lower bout adjacent to the controls, and a few additional minor nicks and scuffs from careful use
The original form-fit faux leather gigbag is included.
