Up for sale, a 1985 Fender Stratocaster model ST314-55 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, finished in custom color Metallic Pink. This notably rare “Made in Japan” Stratocaster was only produced for a few brief years at the Fujigen factory during the golden era of Fender Japan production, featuring a slightly more compact 24 3/4“ scale length.
The trio of SQ-5N Hotrod single coil pickups deliver quintessential Strat tonalities at each position on the five-way pickup selector switch, with sparkle and cut at the bridge, bell-like chime and fullness at the neck, and hollow quack at the “in-between” positions. This ST314-55 weighs 7lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, full shoulders, measuring .850” 1st fret, .925” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 22-fret, 7 1/4” vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Medium jumbo, virtually no wear
-Scale Length: 24 3/4”
-Nut: 1 9/16”
-Tuners: Gotoh, Fender Japan-branded
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” E-prefix, blue “55” sticker on peghead indicates original model tier and price (¥55,000)
-Factory Stamps: ST314-55 model stamp on neck heel, “7-26-85” pencil date
Body Specs:
-Wood: Basswood
-Pickups: SQ-5N single coil x3 (Alnico)
-Harness: Untouched solder, full-size Japanese pots date to July, 1985
-Hardware: Vintage-style vibrato
-Plastics: Three-ply white pickguard, yellowed knobs/pickup covers
The gloss Metallic Pink finish is a rare custom color option only offered by Fender Japan in the 1980s, and cosmetic wear is limited to some minor dings and faint finish scratches on the body as a whole, primarily concentrated on the back. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
A gigbag is included.
