Up for sale, a 1985 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72-55 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the hangtags. Crafted at the Fujigen factory during the golden age of Fender Japan production, this early “Made in Japan” Strat features a sleek look with a gloss Black finish accented by black plastics. This Stratocaster was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, uncommon outside its country of origin.
Tonewoods include a basswood body with a one-piece maple neck, and the trio of alnico magnet single coils deliver classic Strat tonalities at each position on the five-way pickup selector switch. The neck pickup has a bell-like chime and warmth, the bridge position yields sparkling twang, and the “in-between” positions have a hollow quack. This Stratocaster ST72-55 weighs 7lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
