Up for sale, a 1985 B.C. Rich Warlock in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original fitted gigbag. This Warlock is an exceedingly rare higher-tiered model from the Japanese-made NJ Series, featuring neck-through construction, DiMarzio humbuckers, a Kahler 2300 tremolo, and a six-on-a-side headstock with a rosewood veneer.Tonewoods include maple neck-through construction with mahogany body wings and a slab rosewood fretboard, ensuring ample sustain and an authoritative sound channelled faithfully through the original DiMarzio humbucker pair. The neck position DiMarzio PAF offers round, tight low end, tailored midrange and sweet trebles. The bridge pickup is the iconic DiMarzio Super Distortion, a higher output humbucker with boosted mids and huge, screaming highs. As the name suggests, the Super Distortion takes gain exceedingly well. This Warlock weighs 8lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a fast-feeling medium C-shaped profile carve with modest shoulder, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .895” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a 12” radius and retains the stock jumbo fretwire. The frets are in great shape, with plenty of meat and well-rounded crowns, showing only a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. This guitar plays cleanly in all registers up the 24 3/4” with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The original bone nut (with Kahler locking nut behind it) measures 1 11/16" (43mm) in width. On the six-on-a-side headstock with rosewood veneer and inlaid "R", the Gotoh tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. All the electronics work as intended, with a three-way pickup selector switch, dedicated Volume knobs for each DiMarzio humbucker, and a Master Tone control. The original 500k full-size pots are dated to June of 1985. The Kahler 2300 tremolo has bright chrome plating, perfect for sharp flutters and deep dives alike.Cosmetic wear on the Glitter Rock White gloss finish including small finish chips at each of the lower bout body points, and some dings largely relegated to the back and body perimeter. The gloss finish on the neck exhibits some small marks on the profile length, none of which impede playability or comfort. The original B.C. Rich-branded faux leather fitted gigbag is included.
