Up for sale, a 1984 Tokai TLC65-JS John Sykes signature model in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A staple in the ‘80s riff realm, Sykes is most notably known as a guitarist for both Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake. This Tokai features John’s signature aesthetic with a gloss Black finish and mirrored plastics, and even some smaller touches including a solid brass nut and metal switch tip, loaded with a pair of Tokai’s ‘57 PAF humbuckers.
Notably lightweight at 8lbs 2oz, tonewoods include mahogany construction throughout, including a ‘50s-spec carved mahogany top, with a bound rosewood fingerboard on the one-piece mahogany neck. The stock Tokai humbuckers are detailed and rich, with plenty of definition and power from the bridge pickup and more warmth and fullness in the neck position. This TLC65-JS benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
