Up for sale, a 1984 Ibanez Destroyer II model DT450 in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Only produced in 1984-85, this iteration of the Destroyer II platform was produced at the Fujigen Gakki factory and is the embodiment of classic, envelope-pushing visual and sonic design of the 1980s, loaded with a pair of high-output Ibanez V5 humbuckers and a Pro Rock’r tremolo system. The original Destroyer II is widely associated with Def Leppard’s Phil Collen, who played one extensively throughout the band’s heyday and was featured heavily in promotional materials by Ibanez.
Weighing 9lbs 7oz, tonewoods include a basswood body with a maple top, a maple neck, and a rosewood fretboard. The V5 humbuckers feature arched blade pole pieces, carefully shaped to ensure optimal string-to-string balance and no volume deterioration on bends. These pickups are big and bold with tons of midrange punch and sharp, focused aggression, ideal for high-gain applications and retaining terrific articulation with any amount of distortion.
