1984 Ibanez Destroyer II DT355 X Series Vintage Electric Guitar Black, 100% Original, Japan

Up for sale, a 1984 Ibanez Destroyer II model DT355 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Ibanez fitted faux leather gigbag. Produced only from 1984-1985, this rare model was offered for sale exclusively within Japan, featuring a basswood body and a one-piece maple neck. Fitted with the original pair of V5 Ibanez blade humbuckers, the visual appearance of the DT355 telegraphs the tonal intent of the instrument. Designed for high gain crunch, taut low end chunk, and dynamic, singing lead work, this Destroyer delivers the goods. This DT355 weighs 7lbs 11oz, professionally dialed in here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.The one-piece maple neck has a modestly slender C shaped profile with nicely rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .825” deep at the 1st fret and .915” at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard features dot inlay and pristine stock medium jumbo fretwire. The guitar plays easily up the 25 1/2" scale, and the graphite nut measures 1 11/16" in width, just forward of the Top-Lok locking assembly for the Pro Rock'r vibrato. The gold Smooth Tuner Mini II tuning machines turn smoothly as their name would suggest.The electronics all function as intended, with Master Volume and Tone controls and a pair of brass knobs that match the switch tip. The pickup rings and Pro Rok'r Kahler-style tremolo show some wear through the gold plating while retaining plenty of luster, and the gold four-bolt neck plate has a December, 1984 serial number. Cosmetic wear includes light scuffing in the pick path and some light scratches and marks mostly on the edges of the radically-shaped body, particularly concentrated to the lower bout tips. There are also a couple small finish chips on the instrument's extremities. The neck profile sports a pristine smooth gloss finish.The original Ibanez-branded fitted faux leather gigbag is included.
