Up for sale, a 1984 Ibanez Destroyer II model DT330 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced only from 1984-1985, this rare model was offered for sale exclusively within Japan, featuring a basswood body and a one-piece maple neck. Fitted with the original pair of V5 Ibanez blade humbuckers, the visual appearance of the DT330 telegraphs the tonal intent of the instrument. Designed for high gain crunch, taut low end chunk, and dynamic, singing lead work, this Destroyer delivers the goods. This DT330 weighs 8lbs 3oz, professionally dialed in here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, fast action, and accurate intonation. The one-piece maple neck has a slender rounded C-shaped profile carve with modest shoulder, measuring .805” deep at the 1st fret and .890” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features mini dot inlay and stock medium jumbo fretwire. The frets have good height and meat, with uniform wear on the crowns of frets 1-8, extending beneath the plain strings further up the fretboard. The guitar plays easily up the 25 1/2" scale, and the graphite nut measures 1 11/16" in width, just forward of the Top-Lok locking assembly for the Pro Rock'r vibrato. The gold Smooth Tuner Mini II tuning machines turn smoothly as their name would suggest and the small DT330 model sticker is intact. The electronics all function as intended, with Master Volume and Tone controls and a pair of brass knobs that match the switch tip. The gold hardware shows wear through the plating on the pickup rings and bridge saddles, and the four-bolt neck plate has a K84-prefix serial which translates to November, 1984. Cosmetic wear includes scuffing at the treble side of the pick path, a couple finish chips on the body extremities, and some scattered minor marks and finish scratches mostly relegated to the back and body parameter. The neck sports the original gloss finish, exhibiting some light scattered marks that are not distracting to the palm while fretting.A vintage fitted faux leather padded gigbag is included.
