Up for sale, a 1984 Guild F-42 George Gruhn-designed acoustic guitar in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. An exceedingly rare Guild model produced only from 1984-1985, the F-42 is a distinctly voiced Guild model with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, co-designed by George Gruhn and Kim Walker, the shop foreman at Gruhn's shop.
This F-42 has multiple hallmarks, from its narrow, snakehead-style peghead and scalloped bracing on the spruce soundboard to its notched diamond fretboard inlay. Weighing 4lbs 10oz with a 16” lower bout width and 4 1/2” of depth, this guitar has a big, bold sound, with tons of projection. An excellent strummer that’s particularly balanced sounding, the F-42 delivers a broad dynamic range, producing a sweet and detailed tone when picked softly. This Guild F-42 benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 12-53 strings and easy-playing action.
