Up for sale, a 1984 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72-55 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with all hangtags. Crafted at the Fujigen factory during the golden age of Fender Japan production, this early “Made in Japan” Strat has an SQ-prefix serial on the neck plate, featuring a gloss Black finish and black plastics. This Stratocaster was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, uncommon outside its country of origin.
The trio of ST-Current alnico magnet single coils deliver classic Strat tonalities at each position on the five-way pickup selector switch: the neck pickup has a bell-like chime and warmth, the bridge position yields sparkling twang, and the “in-between” positions have a hollow quack. This Stratocaster weighs 7lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
