Up for sale, a 1984 Fender “JV” Stratocaster ‘62 vintage reissue model ST62-70 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Crafted in the third year of Fender Japan production, this “Japanese Vintage” (JV) series guitar is loaded with the same pickups used on the Fender USA Fullerton factory reissues from the same year.
Extremely accurate to vintage spec and designed to be sold only within Japan, this Strat has a resonant alder body paired with a maple neck and slab rosewood fretboard, yielding a balanced, clear natural acoustic quality that translates well through the pickups. True to vintage spec, the USA-made (Fullerton factory) pickups feature black bobbin flatwork, unbeveled staggered Alnico magnets, and cloth-covered leads. The bridge pickup is sparkling and clear, while the neck pickup has ideal fullness and a chiming bell-like top end. This ST62-70 weighs 7lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
