Up for sale, a 1984 Fender Stratocaster ‘62 vintage reissue model ST62-65 in excellent condition and in perfect working order, finished in custom color Candy Apple Red. Produced in the third year of Fender Japan instrument production, this "Japanese Vintage" (JV) series guitar is an uncommon example, with the same pickups used on the Fender USA Fullerton factory reissues from the same year. This JV series Strat is notable for having a very faithful and fast-feeling '60s neck carve, with a bit more shoulder than the Fullerton factory necks.

Weighing 7lbs 8oz, tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and a slab rosewood fretboard. The trio of black bobbin single coil pickups feature staggered alnico magnets and cloth-covered leads. These pickups deliver a bevy of sparkling Strat tonalities at each position on the three-way pickup selector, with gutsy spank at the bridge and fuller, bell-like chime at the neck. This JV Stratocaster ST62-65 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The gloss Candy Apple Red finish shows light buckle rash central to the back, a few small finish chips along the lower bout perimeter, and some minor dings on the body as a whole. The ambered gloss on the neck has just a few shallow marks, not distracting to the palm while fretting.

The original faux leather gigbag is included.
