Up for sale, a 1984 Fender Contemporary Stratocaster, model ST-562 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a Fender USA hardshell case. Made at the Fujigen factory in Japan, the Fender Contemporary series was produced from 1984-1987, amongst the first Fender-branded guitars to be exported to the USA. Designed to appeal to the "Superstrat" crowd, this particular guitar has the traditional triple single coil configuration, with a Schaller-made "System I" tremolo and corresponding locking nut (christened the “Blade Shooter” tremolo in certain Fender adverts of the era), similar to the Floyd Rose systems that were being retrofitted en masse to Strat-style instruments in the '80s.

Tonewoods include a basswood body and a maple neck with a 22 fret slab rosewood fretboard, and this Strat is particularly smooth and lively-sounding acoustically. The trio of single coil pickups are snappy and smooth, coupled to a five-way pickup selector. This Contemporary Series Stratocaster weighs 8lbs 9oz, professionally set up here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
