Up for sale, a 1983 Fender JV Stratocaster '57 vintage reissue model ST57-65 in perfect working order. Produced in the second year of Fender Japan instrument production, this "Japanese Vintage" (JV) series guitar is an uncommon model, with the same pickups used on the Fender USA Fullerton factory reissues from the same year.
This alder-bodied Strat has a balanced, lively natural acoustic quality which translates faithfully through the trio of single coils. All three pickups feature the hallmarks of ‘50s Stratocaster production, with staggered alnico magnets, black fiber bobbins and push-back, cloth-covered leads. The neck and middle positions are the original Fullerton-made single coils from ‘83, while the bridge pickup is a more recent, similarly spec’d American Vintage 57/62 model. There’s a distinct sound in each position on the five-way pickup selector, from sparking chime to bell-like percussive cut. Weighing 7lbs 13oz, this Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The body is finished in gloss Black, with a professional aftermarket humbucker route in the bridge position, touched up in the route to blend seamlessly with the otherwise original finish. There are a few faint sticker “tan lines” on the body, a decently-sized finish chip on the edge of the belly carve, and some dings and scuffs from use. The gloss on the neck profile has some overspray on the fingerboard, with additional targeted touch-up on finger wear on the treble-side of the board and across the 6th fret
The original Fender gigbag is included.
