Up for sale, a 1983 Squier by Fender Precision Bass model SPB-50 in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. This JV-serialized Precision Bass was made at the Fujigen factory early in the second year of Fender Japan production, when the quality between the Squier and Fender brands was virtually indistinguishable, with the Squier brand used for models exported outside Japan (the “EX” factory stamp is retained on the neck heel).

This uncommon model was part of the “Japanese Vintage” (JV) line, which only lasted from 1982-84, prized for its quality and adherence to vintage spec. Featuring an alder body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fretboard, this bass has a bold, authoritative acoustic response, providing an ideal platform for the SQP-2 split-coil pickup. This pickup delivers thump and low-end heft, balanced by sweet treble growl, particularly round and rumbling with the Tone knob rolled back to taste. This Precision Bass weighs 8lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
