Up for sale, a circa 1983 Kramer Vanguard Imperial in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, finished in a gloss Pearl White with matching headstock. This Vanguard Imperial showcases the model’s initial body design, before it was converted to an asymmetrical Randy Rhoads shape in 1985. The Imperial took the Vanguard’s original single-pickup hardtail design and kicked it up a notch with two humbuckers and a Floyd Rose FRT-4 tremolo system.
Weighing 7lbs 14 oz, this Vanguard features maple construction with a subtly flamed neck that’s capped by a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. The stock Schaller-made humbuckers deliver a hot, bright sound expected of these ‘80s shredders, with particularly fiery midrange response at the bridge and a warm, balanced tone at the neck. This Vanguard Imperial benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, with fresh 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.

- Neck: Maple
- Shape: Slender C, measuring .825” at 1st fret, .890” at 12th fret
