Up for sale, a 1983 Ibanez MC924L Musician Series Left-handed bass in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced from 1979-87, the Ibanez Musician basses were known for their top-notch quality, used by artists including Sting, U2’s Adam Clayton, and Fleetwood Mac’s John McVie. The MC924L features a full 34" scale length and neck-through construction, boasting a maple/walnut neck and ash body wings with a Dark Stain finish.

The unique tonewood combination results in a very complex and rich tone with loads of natural midrange fullness and overall resonance. The slab ebony fretboard ensures ideal note attack and treble articulation, and the commanding, detailed natural properties of this bass translate well through the pickups. The Super P5 pickup is an ideally placed split coil humbucker with a big burly sound, subtle growl, and tons of fullness. The J5 bridge pickup, in contrast, offers more attack and top end cut, and the active three-band EQ enables a great deal of tonal sculpting precision. This MC924L weighs 8lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action and accurate intonation.

The gloss Dark Stain finish shows some expected light pick scuffing on top, a bit of buckle rash concentrated central to the back, and some minor dings, largely concentrated on the perimeter. The smooth finish on the neck profile is inviting to the palm, with a few shallow nicks that don’t distract the palm.

The original gigbag is included.
