Up for sale, a 1983 Fender JV Stratocaster ‘62 vintage reissue model ST62-65 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Hailing from the second year of Fender Japan production, this “Japanese Vintage” (JV) series guitar features the same pickups used on the Fender USA Fullerton factory reissues from the same year.
Weighing 7lbs 5oz, tonewoods include an alder body and a one-piece maple neck. Extremely accurate to vintage spec and sold only within Japan and to select international territories, this guitar features USA-made Fullerton-era black bobbin pickups, delivering a wide array of Strat tonalities with plenty of chime and clarity. The bridge pickup has a bouncy sparkle and clear note attack, the neck is fat with a woody chop, while the “in-between” positions on the three-way pickup selector switch yield great chirp and honk. This JV-era Stratocaster benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
