Up for sale, a 1982 Fender JV Stratocaster ‘57 vintage reissue model ST57-65 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Produced in the very first year of Fender Japan production, this “Japanese Vintage” (JV) series guitar is 100% original save for the potentiometers (also vintage) and features the same gray bobbin pickups used on the Fender USA Fullerton factory reissues from the same year.
Particularly lightweight at only 7lbs 1oz, this JV Stratocaster is extremely accurate to vintage spec and sold only within Japan and to select international territories. Tonewoods include an alder body and a one-piece maple neck, and the USA-made Fullerton-era gray bobbin pickups deliver an array of vital Strat tonalities with plenty of chime and clarity. The bridge pickup has a bouncy sparkle and clear note attack, the neck is fat with a woody chop, and the “in-between” positions on the three-way pickup selector switch yield great chirp and honk. This JV Stratocaster ST57-65 benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
