Up for sale, a 1983 Fender JV Stratocaster '57 vintage reissue model ST57-65 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced in the second year of Fender Japan production, this "Japanese Vintage" (JV) series guitar is an uncommon model, boasting the same pickups used on the Fender USA Fullerton factory reissues from the same year.
This alder-bodied Strat has a balanced, lively natural acoustic quality which translates faithfully through the trio of single coils. The Fullerton-made single coil pickups feature the hallmarks of ‘50s Stratocaster production, with staggered alnico magnets, black fiber bobbins, and push-back, cloth-covered leads. There’s a distinct sound in each position on the three-way pickup selector, from sparking chime to bell-like percussive cut, and cheating the “in-between” positions yields hollow quack. Weighing 7lbs 4oz, this JV Stratocaster ST57-65 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
