Up for sale, a 1983 Fender JV Stratocaster ‘62 vintage reissue model ST62-65 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Crafted in the second year of Fender Japan production, this “Japanese Vintage” (JV) series guitar is loaded with the same pickups used on the Fender USA Fullerton factory reissues from the same year.

Extremely accurate to vintage spec and sold only within Japan, this Strat has a resonant alder body paired with a maple neck and slab rosewood fretboard, yielding a balanced, clear, natural acoustic quality that translates well through the pickups. True to vintage spec, the USA-made (Fullerton factory) pickups feature black bobbin flatwork, unbeveled staggered alnico magnets, and cloth-covered leads. Also of note, due to a running change in 1983 with the pickups in the 65 model tier, the Fullerton-made single coils were phased out within a few short months after this guitar's production. The bridge pickup is sparkling and clear, while the neck pickup has ideal fullness and a chiming bell-like top end, and the three-way pickup selector switch enables hollow Strat quack at the "in-between" settings. This JV Stratocaster has been professionally set up here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

There’s a small finish chip at the bass-side lower bout edge and some additional minor marks and light finish scratches. The gloss finish on the neck profile is smooth and clean and there is a short crack in the neck heel that has been professionally addressed.

The original molded Fender-branded hardshell case is included.
