Up for sale, a 1983 Fender JV Stratocaster '57 vintage reissue model ST57-65 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a tweed hardshell case. Produced in the second year of Fender Japan production, this "Japanese Vintage" (JV) series guitar is an uncommon model, boasting the same black bobbin pickups used on the Fender USA Fullerton factory reissues from the same year.
Weighing 7lbs 10oz, this alder-bodied Strat has a balanced, lively natural acoustic quality which translates faithfully through the pickups. The Fullerton-made pickups feature the hallmarks of ‘50s Stratocaster production, with staggered alnico magnets, black fiber bobbins, and push-back, cloth-covered leads. There’s a distinct sound in each position on the three-way pickup selector, from sparking chime to bell-like percussive cut, and cheating the “in-between” positions yields hollow quack.
