Up for sale, a 1983 Fender Bullet H2 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Designed early in the career of famed Fender Custom Shop Master Builder and co-founder John Page, the Bullet was created to replace the Mustang and Musicmaster lines with a well-made and versatile guitar at a price point reachable by beginners and working musicians alike. Notably rare, the Bullet H2 was produced in the USA at the Fullerton factory for a short run between 1982-1983.

With a Tele-esque neck paired with a scaled-down Strat-style body, the Bullet H2 offers a novel pickup arrangement, with each “humbucker” consisting of individually paired alnico magnet single coils. This innovative design allows the guitar to switch between true single coil operation and humbucking, with individual push-button single/humbucker switches for each pickup. The multitude of pickup configurations ensure a broad tonal range, from beefy, bold humbucker fullness, to bright, snappy, single coil articulation. Lightweight at 6lbs 14oz, this Bullet H2 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, accurate intonation, and comfortable action.

The maple neck has a classic early '80s Fullerton factory slender C shape that borders on a soft V with minimal shoulder, measuring .810” deep at the 1st fret and .860” at the 12th. The maple fretboard sports a 7 1/4“ radius and stock slender fretwire. The frets are in great shape with their full factory height, showing light uniform wear on the crowns of frets 1-3, with wear extending faintly under the plain strings to fret 8, and virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The scale length is a full 25 1/2“, and the nut measures 1 5/8“ in width. The headstock sports the silver star Bullet logo and stock set of chrome Schaller-made Fender "F" tuners that turn very smoothly and hold pitch as they should.

On the body, the electronics function as intended, with a three-way pickup selector, Master Volume, Master Tone, and individual single coil/humbucker push buttons for each pair of pickups. The electronics are untouched, with a Sprague Orange Drop tone cap and CTS pots which date to the 43rd week of 1982. The plastics are in great shape, and the chrome plating on the bridge base is nice and bright while the saddles have a dusting of surface patina. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Sunburst finish is limited to a few finish chips on the lower bout body edge and treble side horn tip, with some light scattered nicks and finish scratches mostly relegated to the back and body perimeter. The neck profile sports the original smooth gloss finish with some palm wear along the treble-side edge.

The original molded hardshell case with large Fender logo on the exterior is included.
