Up for sale, a 1983 B.C. Rich RAEG-2 NJ series vintage thinline acoustic electric guitar in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. An exceedingly rare B.C. Rich model, the RAEG-2 features X-braced construction with a "highest quality spruce" top (according to the original catalog description), maple back and sides, and ebony fingerboard and bridge. The lower bout width is 16" wide, and the body measures a comfortable and slender 3" deep. Clear and resonant, the tone is indicative of the more slender body and spruce/maple tonewood pairing, offering a certain brightness and immediacy, but also a smooth warmth as chords sustain. Plugged in, the ceramic magnet undersaddle pickup has a clear, cutting sound. The guitar weighs 5lbs 4oz, dialed in here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and bronze 12-53 strings.

The mahogany neck has a slender D-shaped profile carve with round, inviting shoulders and effortless playability, measuring .815" deep at the 1st fret and .880" at the 9th. The ebony fretboard has pearloid diamond inlay and flawless slender fretwire that plays cleanly up the 25 1/4" scale length. The 21 fret range is easily accessible thanks to the cutaway body, and the neck is straight with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock features gleaming chrome-plated tuning machines and the foil stickered serial number.

The body features a unique diamond-shaped soundhole with multi-ply marquetry, echoing the fretboard inlay. The ebony bridge sits flush with the top, and the compensated saddle has good height. The knurled black Volume and center-detent Tone knobs govern the ceramic magnet undersaddle pickup. The guitar is crack-free, and the gloss Black finish shows just a couple shallow dings on top behind the bridge, some requisite light pick scuffing on the treble side of the strum path, and a few faint finish scratches on the back. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included, with the original BC Rich hangtag on the handle.
