Up for sale, a 1982 Yamaha SG1500 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and warranty card. A rarer SG series Yamaha model, the SG1500 is unique for having two versions in its short production run, and this guitar's feature set represents the second iteration of the SG1500, offered from 1981-84.

This SG1500 sports Yamaha’s three-ply maple/mahogany neck through construction, patented as the T-Cross System, ensuring an incredibly stable, resonant, and tonally complex foundation for the instrument. Eschewing the maple top of the SG2000, the SG1500 has solid mahogany body wings, yielding a certain warmth and growl. The humbuckers are detailed and punchy with great harmonic complexity, and unlike earlier SG1500s, these pickups feature dedicated push/push coil splits on the Tone pots for single coil sparkle and snap. This SG1500 weighs 9lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Oil Stain finish exhibits limited cloudiness (an extremely common occurrence with Yamaha finishes of this era), primarily constrained to the back and neck profile, and cosmetic wear includes light buckle rash central to the back, some finish scratches and small dings along the perimeter, and a handful of light marks on the body as a whole consistent with decades of careful usage. The gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included, along with the warranty card (dated to ‘82).
