Up for sale, a 1982 Yamaha SG1500 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A rare SG series Yamaha model, the SG1500 is unique for having two versions in its short production run, and this guitar's feature set represents the second iteration of the SG1500, offered from 1981-84.

Distinct among Yamaha's upper tiered SG models, this SG1500 has three-ply maple/mahogany neck through construction, patented as the T-Cross System, ensuring an incredibly stable, resonant, and tonally complex foundation for the instrument. Eschewing the maple top of the SG2000, the SG1500 has solid mahogany body wings, yielding a certain warmth and growl. The humbuckers are detailed and punchy with great harmonic complexity, and unlike earlier SG1500s, these pickups feature dedicated push/push coil splits on the Tone pots. This Yamaha weighs 9lbs 9oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Extremely common with Yamaha gloss finishes of this era, the Oil Stain finish exhibits some light cloudiness (much more limited than some SGs). Cosmetic wear includes scuffing along the treble side of the pick path, light buckle rash on the back, and a number of minor dings on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss.

The original form-fit faux leather gigbag is included.
