Up for sale, a 1982 Ibanez Artist AR100 in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A classic example of the finely crafted guitars pioneered by Ibanez in the early ‘80s, the AR100's tonewoods include a carved maple top and solid mahogany body paired with a maple neck and bound rosewood fretboard.Loaded with the original "Super 58" PAF-style humbuckers, these pickups yield a versatile and dynamic set of tones, perfect for everything from glassy cleans to singing, overdriven leads. The bridge pickup is snappy and articulate, and the neck position has a full, throaty quality that's both round and detailed. And at 10lbs 1oz, this Ibanez dishes out plenty of natural sustain and sonic authority too. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, this Ibanez is dialed in with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a slender, fast-feeling C-shaped profile carve with modest shoulder, filling out with a bit more heft in the higher registers, measuring .810” deep at the 1st fret and .925” at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features pearloid dot inlay and flawless medium jumbo fretwire. This guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The stock nut measures a full 1 11/16” in width. The headstock sports an “Artist”-embossed truss rod cover, and the Ibanez-branded Velve-Tune tuning machines turn smoothly (as the name would suggest) and hold accurate pitch. All of the electronics function as intended, with the Super 58 humbuckers governed by independent Volume and Tone controls. The pickup baseplates are embossed “Super 58,” and the original Japanese pots date to June, 1982. Gold-plated hardware includes the Gibraltar Tune-o-matic bridge and Ibanez-embossed Quik Change toploader tailpiece. Plastics comprise cream pickup rings and switch tip, along with the original quartet of gold Sure Grip knobs. The knobs retain their grippy rubber gaskets for easy on-the-fly adjustments and swells. The gloss Cherry Sunburst finish highlights tasteful flame figuring extending across the top, most prominent on the lower bout. Cosmetic wear includes a small area of finish chipping adjacent to the binding on the bass-side lower bout, a few minor dings behind the tailpiece, and a handful of tiny nicks and faint finish scratches on the back. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless. The original brown form-fit hardshell case is included.
