Up for sale, a 1982 Hamer Sunburst in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This custom-ordered iteration of the Sunburst platform is notable for featuring a pair of P-90s, a non-catalog alteration (à la the Special model). This Hamer has been augmented with a modern pair of Lollar P-90s, and the original P-90s are also included. Premium features include a bound curly maple top highlighted by a Transparent Cherry nitro lacquer finish, a solid brass sustain block bridge, and a set of Schaller tuning machines.
Weighing 9lbs 5oz, this Sunburst features a “choice” mahogany body, curly flame maple top, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard, yielding the sustain and sonic authority associated with that classic tonewood platform. The Lollar P-90 pair deliver plenty of glassy bite, focused midrange bark, and sparkling harmonics. The High Wind bridge pickup is designed to really push an amp, also cleaning up nicely when rolling down the volume. While the design of the Low Wind neck pickup ensures optimal clarity and dynamic range without sacrificing the inherent snarl of the P-90 design. This Sunburst has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
