Up for sale, a 1982 Greco Super Real model SA59-120 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Hailing from the most collectable (and brief) era of Greco production and the pinnacle of Fujigen design, the Super Real SA59-120 was one of the highest tiered models in the Super Real line, with a sticker price of 120,000 yen. This instrument does an exquisite job of capturing the finer points of the original 1959 ES-335, featuring a long pickguard, dot inlay on the bound rosewood fretboard, a pair of Fujigen-made “Dry” PAF-style humbuckers, and a gloss Sunburst nitro lacquer finish.
The successor to the SA-1200 as Greco transitioned into the Mint Collection era, the SA59-120 was still fully hand-made at Fujigen (pre-CNC) with an extremely accurate body shape to a late '50s ES-335, featuring faithfully carved "Mickey Mouse" ear cutaways. The figured maple body also has a ‘50s-accurate solid maple/mahogany/maple center block, and the mahogany neck and bound rosewood fretboard round out the tonewood complement.
When it comes to playability, feel, and tone, the Greco instruments excel, and this guitar is loaded with the original Fujigen-made “Dry” humbuckers. This particular PAF replica is the highest grade humbucker offered in any Greco in the '82 model year and an extension of the Dry Z pickups that preceded them. The detail and dimension of these pickups reflects Greco's dedication to faithfully reverse engineer Gibson's late '50s humbucker tonal properties. The sound is nuanced and rich, with plenty of definition and power from the bridge pickup, and more warmth and fullness in the neck position. Lightly wax-potted, these alnico magnet humbuckers interact well with higher gain amps too. Weighing 8lbs 12oz, this Greco SA59-120 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The gloss Sunburst nitro lacquer finish highlights subtle bubble figuring in the maple, and cosmetic wear is limited to a concentrated area of buckle rash through the finish on the lower bout of the back, a few light finish scratches on the body as a whole, and few pinhead-sized dings on top. The smooth nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless save for a few shallow marks.
The original faux leather gigbag is included.
