Up for sale, a 1982 Fender JV Precision Bass ‘57 vintage reissue model PB57-70 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A rare model hailing from Fender Japan's first year of production, this Precision Bass was part of the JV (Japanese Vintage) series made at the Fujigen factory. Paralleling specs of Fender’s Fullerton factory instruments in the USA, this bass features vintage-correct reverse-gear tuners, an upgraded gold anodized aluminum pickguard, and a black bobbin pickup with raised A-string pole pieces, alnico magnets and cloth covered leads.
A unique example of this model, this bass features an ash body (in contrast to the usual alder) and a one-piece maple neck, offering a lively, detailed tone with great midrange detail and treble growl. The vintage-spec black bobbin split-coil pickup has the raised A-string poles seen on the Precision model from 1957-58, delivering pillowy thump, rich growl and round treble punch. This PB57-70 weighs 9lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
